Hearts Programs

CRAFTY HEARTS

During the Crafty Hearts program, we aim to have fun outside of the classroom by being creative. Why is this important you may ask, well art is important because it encompasses all the developmental domains in child development. Art lends itself to physical development and the enhancement of fine and gross motor skills. Art activities also help children’s social, emotional and cognitive development. We also spend time cooking and baking. This is where the kids learn some kitchen terminology as well as general kitchen skills.

EXPERI HEARTS

One of the best ways for children to learn about chemistry, biology and physics is to ignite their interest through hands-on experiments. Besides giving youngsters the chance to explore different scientific concepts through their senses, educators recognise that the experience helps develop other useful skills including problem-solving, research and perseverance.

MOVING HEARTS

Movement supports a child’s holistic development. Movement is vital for young children’s development. A lack of movement may prevent healthy development.

• Movement wires up the neural pathways in the brain.
• Encourages kinaesthetic memory.
• Spatial orientation.
• Supports balance.
• Supports coordination and strength.
• Encourages children to express their emotions.
• Supports awareness of themselves and others through creative movement.
• Movement fosters interactions, and co-operation.
• Verbal and non-verbal communication is supported.
• Children learn to work within a group dynamic and develop the skill of turn-taking.

GROWING HEARTS

As a school that follows Christian values, we aim to grow learners as a whole so that they can one day be empowered to be creative and engaged citizens in their community. We start every school day with prayer and sharing script from the Bible. We have weekly praise and worship as well as class related cell groups. We help learners to grow spiritually and to cope with daily situations and challenges. We teach them to have respect for other people and the environment and to build their confidence and to take responsibility for their decisions, actions and words with regards to their school work and everyday life. Growing Hearts also aims to teach learners how they can have a positive influence on the world around them. Guiding them to reach their full potential, mentally, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually.

According to the dictionary Ambulanté means "being able or strong enough to walk".

In French and Latin “Ambulanté” means “able or strong enough to walk”. A beautiful example of someone who is “Ambulante” is a young child who has just learned to walk.  We believe everyone can “learn to walk” if they have the right support system and guidance. We are passionate about children and we believe that every
child must be treated respectfully and with care.

Ambulanté is proud to be part of the Impaq CAPS Syllabus.
